Happy New Year!
This time of year I find myself taking stock of the year that has just passed and planning for all of the exciting opportunities the New Year will bring. Looking back at Interior Plantscape Association’s year, I’m really proud of what we achieved. Notably, our Conference, the first in Australia in over 7 years! To say it was overdue was an understatement but it was the support of members that made it a success. There were many opportunities for us to come together to learn technical skills but what stood out to me most was the networking. Feedback from those who attended indicated this was enjoyed more than any other aspect – not surprising as it’s always inspiring to catch up with fellow plant people!
As we approach the AGM, I’ve been thinking about the future of our association. After 3 years as President, I have decided not to renominate next year. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as President but I believe we could use some fresh enthusiasm and ideas on how we achieve IPA’s mission.
I would like to put the call out to our wonderful members to get involved in your industry and consider putting your hand up for a role on the executive committee. After all, it’s your industry association and its future is in your hands!
