Great to see all of the entries and thank you to everyone who sent their pictures in, but since we only have two signed copies of Denis’s book, kindly donated by IPA’s Vice President Dee Helm, to give away we had to instruct our judge to pick his favourite two to be our winners.
But first, a little bit about our judge, Denis Crawford. Denis is a columnist and feature writer for Gardening Australia magazine and Hort Journal Australia. Denis has been working with insects for over 35 years either as researcher, writer, photographer or pest management adviser. He combines his passion for macro insect photography with his professional interests in horticulture and the environment.
And the winners are:
Katie Heane of Olive Green Plant & Prop in Victoria who sent us the picture below from a recent Wedding installation.
Comments: Stunning in its simplicity. Beautifully composed with excellent use of selective focus. A creative way to use succulents which are certainly right on trend at the moment, as is using plants to decorate all manner of events.
Margot Webb of Tropical Plant Rentals in NSW who sent us the below picture of a casual hire installation at Rockpool.
Comments: Lots of interesting angles, and the glassware looks great. Is that the photographer I see near the door? The strategically placed plants have a softening effect on the whole look making the space look very inviting!
A Big CONGRATULATIONS to our winners! And special thanks to Denis for judging our competition!
