Since my last message I have attended the Nursery and Garden Industry (NGIQ) Green Expo held at Broadbeach at the Gold Coast. This annual event is one of my favourite expos as the plant life is terrific with many suitable for indoor use.
The exhibitor displays were creative and colourful. New plant releases and products were on show and awards presented to winners in both greenlife and allied trades.
The mood was positive with a general feeling that horticulture has a bright future, many growers are struggling to keep up the demand when it comes to indoor plants.
IPA member – ‘Just add Plants’ exhibited their range of quality pots that are lightweight, stylish and functional.
It has been a busy month. I also attended the Independent Garden Centres conference held in Sydney. With a range of keynote speakers covering topics including marketing and branding. One message that resonated with me was the importance of adapting to change. Having websites that are mobile friendly and email marketing play important roles in promoting your business. Building your brand to entice prospective clients.
Build on your strengths and view your business as a potential buyer. Having a business that is ready to sell ensures it is operating at its full potential.
How is your business running? If someone made an offer next week, would you be ready?
Have a great month!
